From HNL to LA

You know you are in a dreamland  when the founder of RVCA decides to fly the team up to LA to hangout and of course handle some business.

As a tag-along and the Merchandising Director of POW WOW Hawaii, here I am. Normally my dreams are the only place where I can meet larger than life figures. I tried to pinch myself to wake up, but luckily I wasn’t dreaming. I found myself hobnobbing with the coolest and most down to earth guys like Rhandy Hild who is the founder of Roxy, Paul Gomez the man behind Hurley, and of course PM Tenore.

Good times with Slick (Founder of Dissizit), Jenn West, Mike West (Founder of 686 Apparel), Jasper Wong (Founder of POW WOW HAWAII), Andy Song (Flexfit), Kamea Hadar (Lead Director of POW WOW HAWAII), Shanna, Brandon (Hypebeast)

One pinch wasn’t enough, because I was suddenly reunited with homies including Mike West of 686, Madsteez of BL!sss Magazine, Brandon Shigeta of Hypebeast, Hung-Hei of Arrested Motion, Dabs Myla, Shark Toof, Yoskay Yamamoto, Andy Song of Flex Fit, OG Slick, Andrew of ThinkSpace, Benji of the  Hundreds, and John of Imprint Venture Lab.

Now that the weekend is coming to an end, I am sad to wake up from it all but ecstatic to share my dream weekend in LA.

123 Klan x Jasper Wong

A few weeks after the chaos of POW WOW Hawaii 2013, Jasper Wong (founder and my husband) finally got his hands dirty with some MTN spray cans. The French extraordinaires and graffiti legends known as the 123 Klan persuaded Jasper to dust off his drawing hand and “get up”. With the help of Scien and Klor, this is one of the few times Jasper has worked entirely using only spray cans as his medium. He calls this new character “Butter Cream”. He likes to jog and listen to Journey on his walkman.
