Since I can’t have VLounge Pizza

I have found a place that fills the void of V Lounge Pizza (a really dope Brick Oven pizza spot back in Hawaii).

Roberta’s in Brooklyn.

Horrible pic but the doorway that chick is walking out of is it

They make fresh brick oven pizza and it is AMAZING.  I ordered the Margherita Pizza and Bubba got The Specken Wolf (mozzarella, speck, oregano, onions, and mushrooms).  We didn’t eat in because it is a 5 minute walk from our place so we didn’t mind.  Only bad thing is walking in the cold will make your pizza cold, next time we are eating in for sure.

Margherita Pizza (Vegetarian Friendly:)
The Specken Wolf…

The first official meal with Pow Wow Hawaii team

After a chaotic first day for the Pow Wow team, it was time to feed the starving artists’.  From Fresh Cafe, we walked over (roughly 30+ people) and literally took over the entire Duck Butt bar.

pupu’s and drinks…

Deep fried chicken with salt and pepper seasoning and daikon

Kim Chee pancake (A must try!)

I was always a fan of Duck Butt. Duck Butt is a Korean bar isolated from the rest of the world with some simple but amazing dishes. I highly recommend the Kim Chee pancake and deep fried chicken!

call me overrated or created…

a pop-up spot in shirokiya called Tokyo Kimatsu

pork tonkatsu sushi roll

pork tonkatsu with japanese bread = an amazing sandwich

25 layers of pork

this spot is located in shirokiya up until february 12, 2012. i am in LOVE with it. grand opening at official location coming soon to waikiki. this japanese tonkatsu restaurant has 7 types of flavors (plain, cheese, black pepper, salt and spring inions, garlic, japanese plum shiso, citron and pepper).  i can’t wait to try all these flavors! i highly recommend this joint!

for now, get some at shirokiya! =)

dreaming my dreams

aiea bowl – furikake ahí bowl

i always favored aiea bowl for their outstanding fries. i swear, their fries can sit for an hour and still be good! today i ate yet another furikake with fish.

anna millers – custard pie with ice cream

my homegirl from NY visited home and she was craving some chocolate haupia pie… while i ate the custard pie with ice cream.  i barely ate it because i was too full.

it hurts so good

furikake salmon with chicken katsu combination

my first meal of the day so i needed something light (salmon) but due to my eye’s being bigger than my stomach, i added on the chicken katsu. overall good and i highly recommend en fuegos.

beat down the downbeat.

the all amercian burger with cajun fries

downbeat is located in downtown. this is where are the “cool guys” hang out. too bad i was just starving…not so cool girl.

when there is nothing left to burn, you have to set yourself on fire

fried rice with over-easy egg

korean chicken

tater tot nachos

truffle oil french fries

all i gotta say is…finally. finally had the chance to get a table @ the home bar. i made a handful attempts to eat there but every time i drove in, it was always jammed pack with groups of friends and people. never once stepped into the joint due to parking lot headaches. finally. my favorite pupu is the nachos. AMAZING stuff.

chillin with the homies

@ bernini hawaii with the homies

homie #1 – tam tam

homie #2

the location

the meal

cream onion soup + mushroom and mixed greens

pasta with pork

pasta with eggplant

prosciutto with mushroom pizza

four cheese with honey pizza

vanilla ice cream with a shot of espresso

pardon me for the generic names used. i completely forgot what each meal was actually called. overall, first time experience and it was likable. most unique dish is the cheese pizza with honey dip. genius.

the meal of the year yo.

haleiwa joe’s

blacken ahi

fresh poke with mexican inspired sauce (obviously forgot the name)

1 lb. of alaskan king crab

haiku chicken

an unexpected new year’s eve dinner with the boy. a cool tourist type spot with a beautiful overview completed my night. food was enjoyable and it lead into an awesome and mellow night.

food-a-thon

@ da kitchen (but to-go)

deep fried spam musubi

loco moco x chicken katsu x fried rice x white rice x mushrooms x onions x gravy

loco moco with white rice and toss greens

korean chicken plate with toss greens

it felt like a food-a-thon but not. with my colleagues (obviously, all men) we decided to do a run to “da kitchen.”  this local joint is known for its local style plate lunches and also known for huge portions. who cares… we all decided to get out own heart-attack plate. once food arrived, we weighed the loco moco with katsu and it turned out to be close to 4 pounds. WTF.

starving like pigs, we began to attempt to demolish our lunch. failed…well, i failed.
