eye creme – strivectin-sd
l’occiane – foot creme
to be honest, i have been falling behind with my skin care regime. with all the moving and working non-stop, my daily routine was forgotten. i would wake up and just cleansed my face with basic products… then out the door i go.
now that everything has fallen into it’s place…my sleep has been consistent and i am getting into the rhythm of life again (yes, a bit dramatic but very true). along with it all, i ran out of eye creme for about a month. i finally found some time to take care of my skin. i purchased the strivectin creme and i highly recommend it. it is suppose to reduce puffiness and dark circles (i believe it works).
the foot creme, i am not so entirely satisfied with. it works and soothes your foot from a long days worth of work but after waking up with this particular creme, my feet felt icky. i need a few more days to determine how satisfying it is.
Holy shit! I fucken live in New York City (it just hit me the other day). The past couple of months have been a complete blur, just constant movement. So, I decided to get high and explore the city.
On my adventure day I found hands down the cutest vintage shop in the Chelsea area of Manhattan (my favorite!) It’s called Pippin Vintage Jewelry, located on 17th st. right off of 7th avenue. They have a numerous selection of Vintage jewelry, hats, and accessories all dating back from the 1930′s and up.
The coolest part was the second part of the store. It’s located right next to it down a hall or mirrors. It feels like you are stepping back into time; the music, ambiance, and smell (the good kine vintage smell) takes you into a time warp.
It’s my tradition that every year I get CRANBERRY from the Body Shop. So, off I walked to the Broadway location. A limited item they only sell during the Holidays. Luckily I scored! Buy 3 get 3 free (a door prize). So, I stocked up and got 9 Home fragrance oils. I also bought a cute oil burner to go along with it. If you have not smelled this lemme just tell you, it’s unreal. It makes you feel like Christmas 24/7.
A big thank you to Starbucks Flatiron for satisfying my caffiene need. Here’s the perfect Holiday drink recommendation:
Grande
Peppermint
1/2 Non Fat/ Soy
No Whip
w/ Dark Chocolate curls
White Mocha
It was an orgasm in a cup, nuff said. The perfecting ending to my day.
One Love Manhattan.
Screw Utrecht & Pearl with your overpriced everything! Bubba and I prefer this new place. Artist & Craftsman Supply located in Brooklyn, a block away from the Graham Ave. stop on the L Train. I do believe this is one of the best Art Supply stores in NY. As soon as we walked in it felt like home. It’s a cute store with a great selection.
From the outside of the store you wouldn’t think it can hold much, but do not let looks deceive you. Upon entering you are immersed in a wide variety and selection of paints and they also carry many brands. Look out for the sales they have on some paints, they can range from 20-40% off. They are well stocked on textures, matte medium, and any other type of enhancers for paint.
I was glad to see they had a great selection/ variety of brushes. They were also stocked very well. I’ve been to many supply stores where there are brushes missing and do not get re-filled for months! No worries about that here.
What really impressed me was the Canvas selections. They have a whole room dedicated to it. This is the first store that I have been to that had wood & linen canvases. Great selection of sizes and shapes. Some of them were a little pricey but worth the quality.
As far as craft supplies, they got it all. Glue guns, earring backs, feathers, felt, pipe cleaners. This place just keeps uping its coolness points.
And did I mention this place has a second floor as well? The top area is reserved for rolls of paper, sketchbooks, drawing pads, and screen printing supplies.
ACS blew my mind. Great location, decent prices, and a very friendly staff. Definitely worth a trip to Brooklyn. We’ll be back 4 sho.

soul de cuba

assorted empanadas (vegetables, chicken, beef)

steamed clams

marinated chicken with flavored rice topped with black beans
i absolutely love and can not get enough of soul de cuba. i swear i visited this joint more then five times in two months and i always order the same entree. this is a must have. everything is so tasty and the chicken reminds me of chicken adobo but cuban style. the olives marinated with it gives it great flavor!

fried chicken and french fries with corn bread

full rack of ribs
i’d say this is the BEST meal in nyc. everything was soooo super tasty. french fries were awesome and the fried chicken was the best tasting chicken in the world (a bit extreme but true to my taste buds). LOVE LOVE LOVE it. when i revisit, i will eat there again!!! highly recommended!
what makes it so good one might ask? the spices, sauce, and texture!

mixed greens with goat cheese and almonds

spinach ravioli
excuse the lighting, this dinner happened at 10pm on a weekday. i was surprised at how crowded this restaurant was. groups of friends gathered here to catch up and vent about the days work. recommended by a new yorker and now i highly recommend it.

(laura mercier oil-free liquid foundation, creme smooth foundation, mineral powder with 15 sph, makeup sponges, and philosophy purity cleanser)
my temptation to splurge on shopping stopped…for a brief moment. it did not help so much when i ran low on makeup essentials. really…are you serious? so here i go into sephora and out with a ton shit load of foundations. i could not walk away from my laura mercier. it was known that i haven’t shopped in sephora for quite some time so as i observed my makeup goodies, i noticed a “creme foundation” and decided after much debate to give it a try.
makeup adds up… thank god i got no breast or butt implants… or other crazy cosmetic surgery.

infamous for getting my clothes dirty. careless and always rushing, i am always headed for disaster. why did i not buy this sooner? right when i purchased this bad boy, i wore a white top and got it dirty (on accident) but the tide to go saved my life. crazy good stuff. no joke. go get it.

21 degrees north

menu made of cork

the setup

blackened ahi with mango salad and wasabi dressing

seafood medley consisting of large thick shrimps, oysters, ahi sashimi partnering with an amazing cocktail sauce and soysauce

rack of lamb with broiled vegetables and potatoes
for a special day, i searched for somewhere different and stumbled upon reviews for 21 degrees north. three reasons for the pick: name was catchy, voted as one of the top hawaii restaurants and it was on the other side of the island. since i love the long drives and never heard of this place, i immediately booked for a six o’ clock meal.
the verdict: customer service was superb and everything was great! the portions were filling and each item was flavorful as it was clean and simple. they used enough spices to get the feel. i also enjoyed their water filled with fruits. highly recommended.
