living the life of Bill Cunningham

A Harvard dropout, New Yorker and a soldier for the U.S. Army, William J. Cunningham (a.k.a Bill) is best known for his candid street snaps representing American journalism. He worked for Chicago Tribune and of course, the New York Times. Basically, he pretty much introduced street fashion by capturing images on the streets of New York. Taking pictures of well-known people, trendy kids and celebrities without permission was a turning point in America.

I truly am amazed at this pioneer and the story behind Mr. Cunningham. He got the guts to walk around town, doing what he loved…and now has a documentary about himself.  He has inspired me with his no-shame attitude along with other bloggers such as “The Satorialist.” I ain’t gonna lie, I still feel silly sometimes when stopping people to snap a shot of their gear…I just gotta man up.
