i’ve been missing you…

new iMac 27 with trackpad, an iPhone and iPad dock system + alarm clock, new furniture from inspiration, artwork from Jasper Wong

all brand new everything. it was about time that i hooked up my new desktop. we just installed internet to the crib today and now i can play. never realized how much i needed the internet. it seemed as though my life was at a stop without it and internet on the phone did not do any justice whatsoever.

this computer is mainly to focus on video blogging and for work purposes.

everyday i’m hustlin’.

MISSHAPES

I have wanted this book for about 5 years and I finally own a copy.  Found at a used book store on Vanderbilt Ave. (in brooklyn) I purchased it for only $8!

From 2002-2007 (the birth of the HIPSTER movement) this book documents the overall lifestyle and culture of this now closed party, Misshapes.  It’s basically the Studio 54 of the 21st century.

On the weekly you could rub shoulders with celebs like Madonna, Pete Wentz (Fall Out Boy), and even Hillary Duff (oh my, LOL).

Here are some cuties…

A place I’ve always wanted to experience but never got the chance.  The memory lives on through this book and the creatures of the night that made it happen.

yeah, i saw sparks

every year there’s high hopes of having a so called “epic” NYE and every year it turns out to be a little bit of a lack luster event. Between the various (costly) events at hotels, clubs and bars, and it being the first year that it was illegal to set off fireworks in hawaii, everyone seemed to be on the same page of not knowing where exactly they would be celebrating.

my night played out as follows: late, light dinner at Du Vin followed by a hop, skip and a jump over to chinatown and finally rushing into waiks at 11:45 to catch the fireworks show at the beach. mellow night, but not too shabby =) here’s to an epic 2012!

New Year resolution for me? To read at least one book on architecture, design, and/or history every month. simple, but doable.

My Makeup work is Nationwide

After months of waiting it’s finally here! Back in May I did a shoot w/ photographer Harold Julian and Actress Kat Graham.  The makeup looks AMAZING.  Kat had a beautiful canvas to work with and an amazing spirit.  I am so happy with the turnout and grateful for the opportunity to make this happen.  This issue of Disfunkshion can be purchased at Barnes & Noble nationwide :)

Owen & Co. shop

Owen & Co.

i’d say this is the most dangerous place to get your money rob of knick knacks. we strolled into owens & co. for the first time. kicking off the christmas shopping search with my good friend.  i already completed my christmas shopping but going in here made it impossible to leave with nothing. this is such a cute little place with little soaps (made in hawaii), nice and fun notecards, notepads, kitchen wear, clutches, jewelry and a ton of other randomness. i couldn’t resist and got myself a bunch of post cards and envelopes… what the heck. i don’t even write to anyone anymore. oh well, it is time for me to start…

owen & co. is located in downtown, next to the human imagination (in4mation).

the long board girls crew

i have this high interest in skateboarding. it intrigues me because not many girls do it and i like a challenge. i purchased three skateboards a while back but it has been collecting dust. after stumbling upon this video, i feel like i should pick up skating as a hobby to release any type of stressors and since i rarely work out nowadays, this could be my workout. completely stoked.

the longboard girls crew is a team of chicks riding for days and traveling in a van. having fun is only part of it. their whole purpose is to stick together as minorities in the skateboard world and show off that girls can play too. love it.
